GameStreet Talk™

GameStreet Talk™

So, what is GameStreet Talk™? It is basically the merging of three different technologies: Instant Messaging (similar to AIM and MSN Messenger), Voice Conferencing (such as Ventrilo and Teamspeak), and Social Networking. All this is bundled together to better help gamers keep in touch and communicate while gaming.

Contacts and Instant Messaging

GameStreet Talk™ (or GS Talk for short) allows users to build a contact list from their friends on GameStreet, or any other member of the website, and send them instant messages.

Voice Conferencing for Members

Each member can create "Channels" for voice conferences. Each user has an unlimited number of channels they can create for any purpose. Each channel can be setup to allow any of your contact’s to use it, require a password, or you can selectively choose which contacts can use it. You can also browse your contact’s channels and use them as well, if that person have given you access to them.

**Each member can support up to 20 concurrent users across all his/her channels at any given time (Each member is given this 20 user limit across all of his/her personal channels). Member account upgrades can be purchased to support more concurrent users at one time.

Voice Conferencing For Guilds

Guilds who are registered on GameStreet can also create an unlimited number of guild-specific channels that only their members can use. Each channel can be setup by an admin or officer, and can be setup to allow all members to use, require a password, or be used by admins/officers only. Only members of the guild will be able to see these channels and use to them.

**Guilds can support up to 20 concurrent users across all guild channels at any given time. Guild account upgrades can be purchased to support more concurrent users at one time.

Voice Quality and Performance

Testing has shown a far superior voice quality toTeamSpeak, and is equivalent if not better quality thanVentrilo. Average usage of GS Talk requires a very minimal memory footprint (25-50mb), and uses about 600-15000 bytes per second of bandwidth when in a channel.

The Bottom Line

GameStreet Talk™ is completely free to use and does not require a server to host. All users connect to the central GS Talk server infrastructure and can communicate with any other member of GameStreet. The basic service is completely free, but upgrades are available to increase capacity for concurrent users for a member’s or guild’s channel space. GameStreet Talk™ is supported by ads shown unobtrusively in the client, but does not include any spyware or adware.

Known Issues

There is a compatability issue inWindows Vistathat may cause GameStreet Talk to crash sporadically, or not be able to startup at all. We are currently working on a fix to resolve this issue. Please visitour forumsfor more information.

System Requirements

Requires Windows XP (Service Pack 2 or Higher) or Windows Vista (see known issues above).

Stop! Before You Download!

For Windows XP Users Only, GameStreet Talk requires theMicrosoft .NET Framework 3.0. This must be installed either throughWindows Update, or manually downloaded and installed from theMicrosoft .NET Framework 3.0 Download Page. Please do this first before you install GS Talk.

Spells! Spells! Spells! – A Two Worlds II Magics Galore!

Examples of Spells in Two Worlds II

Quite a few people playing Two Worlds 2 have found the magics system in the game a bit simplistic – perhaps not knowing that many of the basic spells and their effects aren’t simply incremental or quantitative increases to some offensive or defensive run-of-the-mill spells like Firebolt or Ice Storm. While the system itself is pretty straightforward, it has a lot of minute restrictions that disallow certain combinations… and some less obvious combinations are, in fact, almost hidden – waiting for you to uncover them… In our mini video-gallery we show you some possibilities to get most of your spells — but, don’t hesitate to experiment, as there’s a TON more to uncover! You might need to wait a bit for the spell videos to load – or click on the links provided to download the HD flv files directly! Enjoy 😀

  • Lost your torch? Can’t get around those dark Tombs in the desert? Well, a simple LIGHT spell is your friend!

  • Example of a LIGHT spell
  • Need a light with more range, or something to draw enemies aggro into your traps? Fine! Combine light with a missile and use no Damage modifiers – there you go…

  • Example of a missile light spell
  • Want your missile to be as impressive as the ones shown in earlier videos? Fine! Just use your homing, ricochet and spray modifiers

  • Example of a fully packed missile spell
  • Perhaps a homing-ricocheting-spraying missile is cool, but what if you combine it with some summoning? Well, even at the early levels you can do that quite simply! You can select which creature to summon by switching out various Effect cards – each card summons a different, uniquely strong creature or humanoid!

  • Example of a missile-summoning spell
  • Missiles are fine and dandy, but when you’re moving you can’t get sidetracked by some pesky Grom… Perhaps a meteor shower, known from so many games, can be of help? Ah, but it’s Two Worlds II – even meteor showers have their twists. This one will travel with you and home in on the targets if they get too close to you!

  • Example of a meteor shower spell
  • Not much juice in your missiles or meteor showers? Perhaps you want to combine some other deadly suprises into your spell — how about… a Trap Carrier – which creates a trap at the ground on impact, and… if someone walks into it, a third section effect can be triggered, like a meteor shower… caution: may sting you a little if you’re not careful!

  • Example of a multi-stage spell with Missile, Trap Carrier and AOE carrier.
  • Remember those nice "trash vortex" and "stone vortex" spells shown at E3 and in some previews? Well, you can make one of your own, thinking a bit out-of-the-box… or in this case, out-of-the-amulet! Instead of relying on a restrictive Section system that combines multiple spells in one amulet, you can use two amulets and get the two spells to interact. First, use air magic to create Tornado Shield… Then, close the amulet and open another one – then create a simple Rock Throwing spell… Cast the first, then the second, et voila! – you got yourself a massively damaging physics shield!

  • Example of combining spells from 2 amulets – stone tornado
  • Offensive spells aside, the system is quite robust insofar as "Special" effect spells are concerned. Consider this example: you’re knee deep in dead Varns, and a ton of juicy loot just waiting to be dismantled, upgraded or sold… but alas! The varns were guarding a locked chest and you’re fresh out of lockpicks! No worries – you can make a handy spell that can unlock locked doors or chests (you need to boost lock level to 7 if you wish to be able to open ANY lock — and if you think about it, a missile can carry a lockpick… or perhaps if locked boxes are located close nearby, an AOE lock-opening spell?)…

  • Example of a lockpicking spell
  • Maybe you’d like to sneak past those Varns, and open their goods-packed chest without them even knowing? Fair enough, regular sneak won’t help. But, don’t despair – there’s always an invisibility spell, quick and easy to make!

  • Example of an invisibility spell
  • Last but not least, what to do if you have to get far by sea and winds are not blowing your way? Why, brew a potion or make a spell that allows waterwalking

  • Example of a waterwalking spell
  • And don’t forget, you can combine that spell with more effects quite easily… Even if you have to use two amulets!

  • Example of combining waterwalking and other spells…

As you can see, Two Worlds II magics are fairly easy to understand – and with a little experimentation, also to master!
