For players of Zu Online you'll no longer have to ask "Care to take it outside?" when you've got a score to settle with some punk who stepped on your boot. Instead, the developers are updating the game with the addition of an arena known as the "Soulflight Altar" to settle just those sorts of squabbles.

The new arena will have some systems to keep the playing field as level as possible. Epic gear will be scaled down, and escape items like Urgent tablets will be non-functional.

The arena also contains powerups known as Soulflight Stones which will give a combatant temporary boosts helping to perhaps turn the tide of battle.

Other than settling a dispute, why would you want to participate in the arena? The phat lewt of course. Players who participate in the arena will earn points redeemable for epic gear. Whether gear earned through this manner will also be scaled down in the arena is unknown at this time.

Get the full press release below:

Zu Online: The First PvP Arena Coming

Soulfight Altar, the first PvP arena in Zu Online (http://zu.igg.com), is now in its final phase of testing. With the completion of Soulfight Altar, players will have a place to go where they can settle things honorably, instead of in the street, so to speak. This new arena significantly improves the core PvP system and will make battles more fun, exciting, balanced, rewarding, and as PK so often is, unpredictable.

Balance

Once players enter Soulfight Altar, the system will reset players’ stats. Use of armor or items that used to have a big impact on PvP will be also limited. For example, Epic equipment will have reduced resistances and Urgent tablets which can teleport the losing side to a safe area will not function in the arena. These changes are designed to balance out PvP, and to minimize the gap between armed and unarmed players.

Soulfight Stones

Soulfight Stones are introduced to make the PvP more fun and entertaining. They will be scattered around the arena offering sudden boosts to players that pick them up. They may assist players to vanish from sight or have their movement speed dramatically increased or even see their attack power go through the roof. There are a total of 9 beneficial effects, and when a fight seems to be dragging out or heading for a stalemate, quick thinking players may be able to grab a stone and steal the win.

What do you gain from “Soulfight Altar”?

Now, let’s get down to the rewards. What could they give out that would make such unpredictably exciting PK worth the time to go to an arena? Well, anyone taking part will earn Soulfight points that can be exchanged for some awesome equipment, including Epic sets.

In addition to the announcement we have four new screenshots of the Soulflight Altar which you can find here.

IGG has posted a guide to enchanting in Zu Online which references Wolverine for some reason.

In early February, the Enchanting system enabling players to enchant their equipment using Spars was added to Zu Online (http://zu.igg.com). However, players have been finding out that getting these “Spars” is not as easy as they thought. Some have even complained that “it’s quite difficult”. Well, we’ve come up with an “X-Weapon Plan” to help players get the Spars they need. Look to the Item Mall and you’ll see were re-introducing Medium Attacking Spars and Medium Defensive Spars.

When seeing a player who is wearing equipment which has been enchanted to the rank of several moons, most people say “Wow, cool!” These are the players that make Zu Online such an intense place to prove your skills in battle. They are the true warriors of Zu.

The Enchanting function increases the attack power and defense of equipment. Equipment that has been successfully enchanted will have a star level indicator to show the extent of it’s enhancement from the Enchanting. Also, the equipment will take on a much more shiny appearance that clearly shows that you take great pride in having the best equipment available.

However, only the luckiest players can get the best equipment. Enchanting does not guarantee a 100% success rate either. When the equipment is enchanted unsuccessfully, its star level will go down. So, be cautious when enchanting 5+ star level equipment. After all, who said enchanting, or refining for that matter was easy?

The folks at Zu Online have posted guide to the game's Guild vs. Guild Event.

As the most attractive part of the King Craft series of Zu Online (http://zu.igg.com/), the Guild vs. Guild event gives our players the chance to earn much more handsome rewards than in other areas of the King Craft series. With our player’s great support, the Guild vs. Guild event has made huge achievements. So in order to help them to get even more rewards, we are pleased to give out a guide to the event.

Rewards for the Guild vs. Guild event:

The participants are able to win dual rewards. First, when completing a Guild Quest, the player will be given some Mangoes and their guild will also be given the same amount of Mangoes. The total Mangoes received by the guild in a week, will be divided equally between the guild members who have completed the Guild Quests that week. In addition, after completing a Guild Quest, the player will also receive some Spars.

Tips for getting even more Mangoes.

We’ve already mentioned how players who’ve completed the Guild Quests are able to get extra Mangoes from the guild for that week. The formula is: Guild Mangoes*F/T*0.1(F: Guild members who have finished the guild quest; T: Total guild members).

The folks at IGG have prepared a guide for players wishing to advance as a Moonmaiden in Zu Online.

In Zu Online (http://zu.igg.com), the Moonmaidens are regarded as secret killers because they are good at becoming invisible to confine their opponents. However, in contrast to other clans, the Moonmaidens have low health and defense. Therefore, it is quite difficult to level up a Moonmaiden. Nevertheless, you are still able to spend talent points to leveling Moonmaidens fast. On the Moonmaiden’s talent tree, the “Hoop” branch mainly improves their trap spells, which is very helpful for PvP fights but not very helpful for leveling up fast. The “Nirvana” branch has no proper talents for leveling fast either. So, we have to spend the most talent points on the “Health” branch. The talents on the “Health” branch are able to raise Moonmaiden’s maximum health and defense, and accelerate damage dealt.

First Row: Spend 10 talent points on “Disabling Moonblades” until it increases the Garrote chance of Moon Chasing, Double Flaying Moon and Flying Flame Moon spells by 5%. “Luna’s Anger” can be ignored.

Second Row: Spend 10 talent points on the “Disabling Hit” until it increases the Garrote damage bonus by 28.4%. ”Reinforced Phoenix’s Force” is very helpful for fighting BOSSes. But it can be learnt later.

Third Row: Spend 1 point on the “Shapeshift: Fish” which is very helpful for fighting BOSSes and survival. After that, spend 9 talent points on “Improved Parry” so that it increases your parry chance by 9%. Note that you should only spend 9 points on “Improved Parry” now because we need save talent points to spend on more important talents.

Fourth Row: Spend 5 points on “Vitality” to increase maximum health by 5%. Then, spend 5 points on “Find Weakness” to increase the Garrote chance by 9.1%. After that, spend 1 point to learn the “Moonfire” spell which can temporarily increase movement speed, attack power and defense.

Fifth Row: Spend 9 talent points on “Improved Moonfire”. The Moonfire spell is more helpful than the Phoenix’s Force spell especially when fighting BOSSes.

Sixth Row: Spend 1 point on the “Water Spirit Dragon” to learn this Shapeshifting spell which is better than the “Shapeshift: Fish”. Then, spend 10 points on “Strong Body” to increase your defense by 10%.

When you have enough talent points to spend on the talents above, you should be around level 210. At this level, you should be a veteran, and with the power you’ve gathered, it’s time to start mastering PvP, if you haven’t already. It’s all up to you.

Remember that you can also get experience by training Stunt Double and/or by simply sitting cross-legged in your guild occupied zones.

The folks at Zu Online have posted an overview of their efforts to improve the current version of the game as well as what may be in store in future updates.

At present, Zu Online (http://zu.igg.com/) focuses most attention on developing later versions, improving the current version, holding in-game events and maintaining the game server. Since its debut, Zu Online has received great support and loyalty from players. Now we are pleased to reveal the recent development trend of Zu Online in order to give something back to our players.

First of all, I would like to talk about the development of later versions. We are going to raise the level cap by up to 265 and also add related contents such as new zones, new monsters, new quests, etc. They are all in development now. In the later versions, the Wind Calamity quests are the first to be released. You may have noticed that the Honored Immortal title had been added to the titles list.

Are you eager to challenge the Wind Calamity? All right, but please be a bit more patient. Here is some good news. We have completed readjusting the style and overall arrangement of the Wind Calamity related zone—Sharpwind Castle. We have completed the quests design of the first two scenarios and also reversed the mounting settings in Sharpwind Castle so that players are unable to mount in the castle. We’ve also strengthened the monsters there.

In addition, we would like to talk about the improvements made to the current version. Class balance is one of the most important issues that we are concerned about. First, we will change the effect duration and cooldown of the Sun Warrior’s Heavenshot and Heaven Hegemony spells. Also, we will raise the Moonmaiden’s attack power but how to raise that is still being tested. Currently, we are trying by raising the damage of some spells. Swordsmen will be strengthened too. At present, we have 2 choices to strengthen Swordsmen. One of them is to raise the Swordsmen’s defense and maximum health. The other one is to raise the Swordsmen’s attack range and attack speed. They are being tested too. As for Summoners and Bead Fairies, we’ve not yet made plans.

Also, considering it’s not easy to gather precious materials for making equipment, we will raise the chance of getting the Mystic Stones back when disenchanting equipment. We may adjust the chance to 30% from the former 20%. But, it is being tested too.

In addition, in order to help beginners get started easier, we will add signposts to the two beginners zones—Blue Mountain and Ghost Canyon, and also add some more detailed descriptions of the daily online reward system and the spirit training system.

Above is merely a brief introduction to the recent development trends in Zu Online. Are you looking forward to them? Anyway, we will keep working hard to improve Zu Online. Again, thanks for your continued support!

IGG has posted a guide for leveling the Swordsman class in Zu Online.

Among the five clans of Zu Online (http://zu.igg.com/ ), the Swordsmen are the best damage dealers. Master Swordsmen wield the most powerful spells. Magic that can cause a lot of damage to a single target. Also, their spells cool down fast and can be cast instantly. Because of this, Swordsmen can level faster than of the other clans.

Now, let’s talk about how to spend their talent points to increase the number of monsters they can slay. To slay monsters quickly, Swordsmen need to spend almost all their talent points on the “Cohesion” branch.

First Row
Spend 10 talent points on “Lethality” until it increases the critical strike damage bonus by 14%. This may be one of most practical talents of Swordsmen.

Second Row
Spend 10 points on “Disabling Sword” to increase the Garrote chance of Flying Sword, God Sword and Multi Sword Strike spells by up to 11%.

“Subtle Strike” will not help slay monsters faster, so it can be left out for now.

Third Row
Spend 1 point on “Store Spirit”. Then you can use this talent when you have enough vigor, which will really help slay monsters.

The other talents on this row will not help accelerate monster slaying, so they can be ignored for now. However, we still need to spend more talent points on this talent branch in order to activate the talents on the fourth row. So spend 9 talent points on “Flying Sword Strike”.

Fourth Row
Spend 10 talent points on “Mortal Strikes” to increase the Critical Strike chance of Air Explosion, Fury of the Universe and Swirling Wing Spells by up to 16%.

“Soul Shaking” reduces the movement speed and attack speed of a single target, so it can be ignored for now.

Fifth Row
As for the talents in the fifth row, “Malice” is first on the list, so pump it up until it increases the chance of Critical Strike by 15%. This is another one of the most practical talents of the Swordsmen.

“Disabling Shot” is almost useless when fighting against a crowd of monsters, so it can be ignored for now as well.

Sixth Row
Spend 10 talent points on “Extended Blast” to increase the area of effect of Air Explosion, Fury of the Universe and Swirling Swords spells by 80. This talent is very helpful, especially for fighting against monsters while away from the keyboard.

When you have enough talent points to spend on the talents above, you should be around Level 207. At this level, you should be a veteran, and with the power you’ve gathered, it’s time to start mastering PvP, if you haven’t already. It’s all up to you. Remember that, to level fast, Swordsmen must use a Bolus of Rapidity to increase their experience gained. Also, before fighting AFK, Swordsmen should use Soul Power and make sure they have enough Soul Herbs left in their backpack.

IGG has published a brief guide to high level training on Zu Online's Wan Mountain.

Wan Mountain in Zu Online( http://zu.igg.com/ ) was originally where the great master of the Sun Warriors, Master Mind, cultivated his spirit. The Sun Warriors of Wan Mountain originally took the leading role in the direction of the Good forces. However, after Master Mind ascended to heaven, the Flame Master conspired with dark forces, culminating in the incident with the Fire Vessel, and after driving the moderate Master Dazang away, he established his control over the Sun Warriors of Wan Mountain. Soon after that, the Flame Master was lured by Blood Demon into training the Bloodfire Strike ability and eventually leading to the corruption of the once revered Sun Warriors of Wan Mountain.

Wan Mountain is now a good place for Level 120+ players to train. Listed below are the most common, though not easy, monsters on Wan Mountain. Slay them and you will progress very quickly.

Ophidian Man (Level 120)
They belong to the same clan as the Snakey Men in Miracle Town. They escaped to Wan Mountain in a panic after hearing of the fall of Miracle Town.

Snailman (Level 125)
They escaped to Wan Mountain during the Turmoil of Sky Lake, but they became evil monsters after imbibing the tainted water in Sky Lake.

Elite Archer (Level 132)
They are very capable pawns of the Flame Master. The crossbow in their hand is a powerful talisman which can attack at will and hit an enemy critically every time.

IGG has posted details about the “Area Occupation”, a new placed to fight in Zu Online

What is the most eye-catching aspect in Zu Online (http://zu.igg.com/)? It must be the fights between talented, veteran players. In the upcoming Zu Online version, a brand-new place to fight will be the “Area Occupation” that's been added. We hope this will bring even more intense fights for players to enjoy.

During the “Area Occupation”, any guild member can manipulate the Lead Pillars which have not yet been occupied, and then occupy the area where the Lead Pillar stands. Occupation of this area will earn the guild some funds as an everyday reward, until another guild comes and takes it.

Any guild members can manipulate the Lead Pillar owned by another guild in the same faction. When a guild’s Lead Pillar is captured, all the online members of the guild will receive a system prompt announcing the loss. Then, they can rush to the area and try to prevent the attackers from fully occupying their area. If the attackers finally occupy the area, then they will start to earn the guild funds as an everyday reward, until another guild occupies it.

Guild members can also manipulate the Lead Pillar occupied by a guild in a different faction. When a guild’s Lead Pillar is captured, all the online members of the guild will receive a system prompt announcing the loss. Then, they can rush to the area and try to prevent the attackers from fully occupying their area. If the attackers finally manage to occupy the area, then all the players in the same faction as the attackers and standing near the Lead Pillar will get handsome rewards. Other online players in the same guild as the attackers will get some rewards too. Additionally, the guild will gain some guild funds as a daily reward from the next day on until the area is occupied by another guild.

Sample Area Occuptation
If guild A from faction Xun captures the Lead Pillar owned by guild B from faction Tai, then all the online members of guild B will receive a system prompt about it. If guild A finally occupies the Lead Pillar, then all Xun players who are near the Lead Pillar will get big rewards while other members of guild A will also get some rewards too. Additionally, guild A will gain some guild funds as a daily reward starting the next day on until the area is occupied by another guild. But if guild B successfully defends the Lead Pillar, they will continue to occupy the area and receive the guild funds.

The folks at Zu Online have posted a preview of the Hades Fire Beast, a new minion for Summoners to employ.

The most ancient and strongest of the human feelings is fear, especially the fear of the unknown. It can paralyze a person from action and leave them defenseless. When the Hades Fire Beast is summoned into battle and you are facing down it’s dark visage and bone white teeth, what will you do? What is the Hades Fire Beast? What does it bring to the Secondary World from hell? Let’s take a walk on the wild side and grab a more detailed look at the Hades Fire Beast, a new Summoner minion which will be released in the new version of Zu Online (http://zu.igg.com/).

A Force from Hell
The Hades Fire Beast is the most evil monster there is in hell. It has giant horns and the sharpest tusks. Dark, mysterious and incomprehensible hierograms are tattoed across its back and it is constantly surrounded by purple hellfire which can swallow souls. Thus, it is appropriately called the Hades Fire Beast.

The Hades Fire Beast was originally the Chief Devil’s mount. It is extremely bloodthirsty and is able to swallow souls in seconds. In those years when the evil forces invaded the Secondary World led by the Chief Devil, the High Summoner put his life at risk and tried his best to seal the Chief Devil in his body. After that, the High Summoner sought to research spells to resist the power of ghosts. One day, he successfully summoned the Hades Fire Beast from hell and sealed it using hierograms.

The End of Summoners’ 1v1 Fight:
After the release of the new version, Level 240+ Summoners can purchase the book to learn the spell to summon a Hades Fire Beast from Summoner trainers. The Hades Fire Beast masters three melee attacks which are all area of effect spells. So, with the release of the Hades Fire Beast, Summoners do not need to fight their enemies one by one anymore.
